Canberra Festival Balloon Spectacular
Saturday 12 to Sunday 20 March 2011
The "Spectacular" is held on the lawns in front of Old Parliament House where up to 40 balloons will inflate at sunrise each morning (weather permitting), and after a gentle lift off, fly over the lake and city. Balloons come from all over Australia and overseas.
Become part of the 2011 Canberra Festival Balloon Spectacular and book a PASSENGER flight. Flight costs are as follows.
Weekend flights: $360 per person or $260 per child aged 6-12.
Weekday flights: $310 per person or $220 per child aged 6-12.
All flights during the Spectacular are approximately 45-60 minutes. Following the flight all passengers will be presented with a commemorative flight certificate and offered champagne and a cooked breakfast prepared by the Lions Club of Canberra.
The fun isn´t finished once you´ve landed, there is a full program of entertainment at the Festival breakfast site with hot local bands performing until 10am.
SPECTATORS - balloons will start inflating at approximately 6.30am and will be expected to launch at around 7am, so make sure you get up early to see this amazing site. Breakfast can be purchased on the morning from a variety of vendors or bring your own picnic. This is a free community event for spectators.
